Join Our Online Communities!

by Milena Schmidt|April, 2013

Random House is constantly working on new ways to bring together authors and readers. Whether it’s through social media, author engagements, or events such as South by Southwest, our divisions lead the charge in connecting with consumers and generating discussions about books around cultural trends.

One innovative way we’re engaging with readers is through our community of category verticals, and we invite authors to get involved in this effort.  Across Random House, there are nineteen vertical sites that share engaging content about topics that matter to consumers. These range from crafting to cooking, biography to mystery, and film to personal wellness. The goal of these communities is to provide additional reach and exposure for authors and provide readers with fresh, high-quality content.  These sites serve as online destinations, and are also great vehicles to share and syndicate content and articles through social networks and blogs.

You’ll find stories that include a guide to watching and keeping up with Cloud Atlas (on Word & Film), an essay by Elizabeth Berg that explores what it takes to be a good writer (on Biographile), and a list of must-read books for fans of Downton Abbey (on Everyday eBook).

Below is a list of some of our online communities, which invite authors to share their unique perspectives with an engaged group of readers, and information on how to get involved with each:
