After our Inaugural Author University event in May, we heard your requests for more social media tips and more content for writers of YA and adult fiction. In November, the Author Portal team brought you Author University: The Bonus Sessions, a set of three live virtual masterclasses for authors by authors. We’re thrilled to announce that recordings of all the Bonus Sessions are now available on demand for your viewing pleasure.
The Bonus Sessions were a huge success, open to all Penguin Random House authors: 350 authors registered, and authors from ten countries joined us across the three days. Each session featured a selection of breakout authors sharing their advice and insights on how to grow your reach:
- Craft Your Career: YA Authors on Finding Inspiration, Setting Boundaries, and Engaging with Your Audience with Adib Khorram, Elizabeth Lim, Karen M. McManus, and Sabaa Tahir
- Keeping It Real: Adult Fiction Authors on Finding Inspiration, Talking to Booksellers, and Trusting your Process with Janelle Brown, Emily Henry, Robert Jones, Jr., and P. J. Vernon
- Social Media: Finding the Platform that Works for You with Joanne Lee Molinaro, Adam Serwer, and Nedra Tawwab
For those of you who couldn’t attend or want to review the content again, we have good news: All the panel discussions from the Bonus Sessions are now available to view on the Author Portal! Simply hover over the Resources tab and click on Author University, and all the videos will appear. From conversations about reader engagement to the ins and outs of social media to setting boundaries and putting your best work forward, the panels offer powerful lessons about maximizing your authorial presence and leading with intention.
