There are infinite ways to be Black. This summer, Penguin Random House launched All Ways Black, a new initiative that showcases and celebrates the many facets of the Black experience.
All Ways Black debuted on Instagram (@allwaysblack) in June, and has amassed more than 12,000 followers in just two months. What’s more, the community that’s formed on @allwaysblack has the highest average engagement rate in the Penguin Random House ecosystem.
To speak authentically to our readers, we’ve partnered with influencer Cree Myles, founding editor of All Ways Black and the creative force behind last winter’s Black Like We Never Left Read-a-Thon, which raised more than $10,000 for the Center for Fiction’s Emerging Writer Fellowships.
Cree has been working alongside the consumer marketing team to develop a wide range of editorial content—from monthly recommendations to memes—and host biweekly events, which to date have included author conversations, literary musical performances, and a nine-hour James Baldwin read-a-thon.
We hope you’ll follow @allwaysblack. And to generate excitement for the platform, we’ve provided social media graphics that you’re welcome to share on your personal accounts. If you do, please use the hashtag #allwaysblack.
Thank you for supporting this exciting initiative!
